Dersingham Bog
Dersingham Bog, part of the Sandringham Royal Estate in Norfolk is now one of the largest remaining areas of lowland heathland left in Britain.
From the car park just above the old Royal Wolferton station the footpath is signposted “Cliff walk” first stop is a surprising view point from atop the cliff, once the seashore but now with views towards the distant Wash.
The mix of mire, heath and woodland provides ideal conditions for a wide variety of plants, birds and animals, including night jar and woodlark, its also home to insects such as the black darter dragonfly the insectivorous plant sundew.
Dersingham Bog is also for those of us who just enjoy a gentle stroll through amazing soft rolling country offered by this unspoilt corner of rural Norfolk.
